RKH Specialty (“RKH”) today announced the appointment of Richard Putnam as Divisional Director, Healthcare. Putnam joins from CNA Hardy, where he was Underwriting Manager.

In his four years at CNA Hardy, he has contributed to significant premium growth and developed a geographically diverse portfolio.

Drawing on his extensive technical insurance knowledge and a background in human biology and anatomy, Putnam led the international underwriting team and developed a wide range of healthcare products for individual clinicians, medical technology start-ups, NHS providers, private hospitals, and whole government healthcare systems.

In his new role at RKH, Putnam will work closely with RKH’s hub offices in Singapore, Dubai, Miami, and its extensive network of producers to develop an ambitious range of products and services for international clients in territories outside the USA.

Alistair Carter, Head of Healthcare, RKH, commented: “In recent years, the USA has formed the majority of our healthcare book. However, healthcare spending is increasing exponentially across the globe and many countries are experiencing significant demographic shifts and social mobility that has resulted in a growing middle class who have the appetite and affluence to demand high quality healthcare, which in turn is driving demand for our services.

Bringing together Richard’s expertise with our global reach and presence in international markets will enable us to capitalise on these new opportunities and deliver unique products for clients in these regions.”
