Hyperion X, the newly launched data and technology arm of Hyperion Insurance Group (“Hyperion”), today announced the appointment of Michael Whitfield as an Adviser.
Whitfield joins Hyperion X with over 35 years of experience having co-founded Thomsons Online Benefits, the market leader in global benefits software, which was bought by Mercer in 2016. Prior to this he was Managing Director at Alexander Forbes, a specialist employee benefits and wealth management adviser.
Employee Benefits is a key focus for Hyperion, with Howden acquiring leading UK Employee Benefits health and protection consultancy, Punter Southall Health and Protection Holdings Ltd earlier this year.
Barnaby Rugge-Price, CEO of Hyperion X, commented, “Hyperion X is attracting the best talent in the market, and I am excited that Michael is joining us at this pivotal time. His experience will further enable us to deliver a series of products and market platforms that address the needs of clients and markets, especially within Employee Benefits.”
Michael Whitfield said: “The Global Employee Benefits market is changing rapidly, and technology sits at the core of this continued transformation. Hyperion X is going to challenge and disrupt the market, and their vision is very exciting, so I am delighted to be helping them on their journey right now.”
Glenn Thomas, Managing Director of Employee Benefits, Howden added: “As we continue to build our global Employee Benefits capability, having Michael providing advice and support to Hyperion and Howden will prove invaluable”.
