  • Howden’s Consumer Life & Health lead steps up to run retail high street business

London, 23 October 2025 – Howden today announces the appointment of Mike Dalby as CEO, Howden Consumer & Local Commercial (CLC) to lead its UK high street business in the next phase of its ambitious future growth plans. Dalby takes up this role alongside his existing leadership of Howden’s Consumer Life and Health division. Kelly Ogley has decided to leave the business to take some time out with her family and to consider other opportunities.

Dalby joined Howden in 2023, and prior to this was with AXA Health, most recently as a Distribution Director and prior to this as an Individual Health Director.  In 2000 Dalby founded Health-on-line, a company that became a prominent brand, with AXA Health assuming the role of underwriter in 2006 and eventually acquiring the business in 2012.  During the two years that he has led Howden’s Consumer Life and Health division, he has overseen remarkable revenue growth, integrated three businesses under a single brand, and led Howden’s recent acquisition of Active Quote.

Rob Kennedy, CEO, Howden UK&I, comments: “Mike’s proven track record in driving growth and integrating teams will unlock opportunities for greater collaboration across our Howden businesses, delivering more value for clients and further opportunities for colleagues. I look forward to working with Mike as he takes the Consumer & Local Commercial business to the next level of its growth trajectory.”

Kelly Ogley has played a pivotal role in Howden’s high street business for nine years, five of which as CEO of Consumer and Local Commercial – following the acquisition of A-Plan in 2020 - and under whose leadership the division has been shaped into the purpose-driven business it is today.

Rob Kennedy continues: “Kelly has always been passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and has a deeply rooted sense of community - attributes that made such a critical difference to the success of our high street businesses.  We thank Kelly for her outstanding leadership and her commitment to colleagues. Beyond Howden, her advocacy for better representation across gender and ethnicity in the industry has been tireless. We wish Kelly every success in the future.”

Dalby’s appointment is effective immediately, subject to regulatory approval.
