Howden launches US Sports and Entertainment practice, names Robbie Henderson to lead
New practice adds to the acquisition of music, sports and entertainment insurance broker Gravitas.
New York, September 16, 2026 – Howden announced the launch of its US Sports & Entertainment practice, naming Robbie Henderson to lead the team.
Since joining Howden in 2019, Henderson has helped strengthen the company's sport and entertainment business, as well as shape its strategic direction across international markets. In his new role, he will lead the build-out of Howden's US Sports & Entertainment practice, drawing on the firm's decades of global experience by creating closer integration between the US operations and Howden's wider Sports & Entertainment network. He will be based in New York.
“Robbie’s reputation and expertise have earned the trust of some of the biggest names in sport, live entertainment and media worldwide. Under his leadership, our US clients will have access to a level of global experience and insight that other brokers cannot provide,” said Mike Parrish, CEO of Howden Americas.
The sector is growing more complex, as media rights, touring and live event exposures increasingly intersect for a single client. A major sporting event alone can involve broadcast rights, cancellation risk and event liability, often placed separately. Howden's model brings specialists across those lines together around one client relationship.
“This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to lead our business in the largest Sport & Entertainment market in the world. We already have strong specialist expertise in the US and outstanding Sport & Entertainment capability across Howden, globally. Bringing those strengths together gives us a formidable proposition for our clients. My focus will be on building our domestic presence and connecting the US business with our global practice, giving clients access to the best of Howden, wherever that expertise sits,” said Robbie Henderson, Head of US Sports & Entertainment.
The US practice advises clients across the industry, from touring artists and professional sports franchises to promoters, talent agencies, and production companies. Its capabilities include complex coverage such as event cancellation, non-appearance and prize indemnity insurance, and is backed by Howden's global Sports & Entertainment platform of 400 specialists across 23 countries.
