Dublin, 28 May 2026 – Howden Ireland today announces the acquisition of Opes Private Clients Limited (“Opes Wealth Trust”), a Dublin-based firm specialising in financial, retirement and investment planning. This acquisition strengthens Howden’s expanding Financial Advisory team in Ireland and enhances its growing Financial Advisory proposition with greater depth and technical expertise.
Opes Wealth Trust, founded by Cathal McCabe, offers expert advice on all aspects of financial planning for self-employed individuals, business owners and private clients. The Opes Wealth Trust team of experienced professionals will join Howden Ireland, continuing the growth of their portfolio of clients.

This follows Howden Ireland’s recent acquisition of Maven Financial Planning in April 2026 and is another step in its strategy to strengthen its Financial Advisory capabilities. Launched only last year and led by Dermot Gaskin, Managing Director, the team includes over 80 professionals supporting the insurance and financial advisory needs of a large volume of clients across Ireland.
