Howden appoints Rob Brown as Head of Employee Benefits, Howden Markets

London, 10 April 2026 – Howden today announces the appointment of Rob Brown as Head of Employee Benefits, Howden Markets.

Rob joins Howden to lead how employee benefits are placed and negotiated with international insurance carriers, connecting multinational and local clients with the global insurance market to deliver more competitive, consistent outcomes.

He will be responsible for shaping the placement and employee benefits broking strategy across multiple countries, strengthening insurer relationships and bringing a more coordinated, market facing approach to programme delivery globally. Rob will be developing Howden’s global financing and captive programme for Employee Benefits.

He will also support a more strategic, data led approach, using insights to improve programme design, manage risk and deliver better long term value, while ensuring solutions meet regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.

Rob has dual reporting lines to Toby Pollard and Glenn Thomas.

He brings nearly 25 years’ experience across employee benefits and insurance, including senior roles at Zurich Insurance Group. He is recognised for his strong insurer relationships and his ability to deliver complex, multinational programmes.

Toby Pollard said: “Rob brings exactly the experience we need to strengthen how we engage the market on Employee Benefits. His understanding of placement and insurer dynamics will help us deliver more for our clients globally, leveraging our global scale to accelerate delivery of the Group’s T20 strategy.”

Glenn Thomas added: “Rob’s depth of experience, reputation and relationships with our insurer partners make him ideally placed to lead employee benefits broking and placement within Howden Markets. He will play a key role in strengthening how we engage the market and deliver more consistent, high quality outcomes for our clients globally.”

Rob Brown said: “I’ve spent my career working with global clients to deliver growth, build scalable platforms and bring more strategic thinking to complex insurance programmes. What attracted me to Howden is the opportunity to combine that with a genuinely global platform and a strong entrepreneurial culture. There is real potential to innovate.”
