Carla Hammond appointed Chief Financial Officer at Howden Health & Employee Benefits
London, 1 December 2025 – Howden, today announces the appointment of Carla Hammond as Chief Financial Officer for Howden Health & Employee Benefits (HEB) and Barnett Waddingham (BW). In this role, she will lead financial strategy, governance and performance across Howden’s combined UK employee benefits business. Hammond will also provide financial oversight for HEB’s global operations, supporting Howden’s growing international employee benefits footprint.
Hammond joins from Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), where she spent 18 years in senior finance leadership roles, most recently as Head of Finance for the UK & Ireland. Her experience spans business partnering and financial leadership across the UK, EMEA and US, and she has a strong track record in strengthening internal processes and reshaping finance structures to support growth.
Her appointment reflects Howden’s commitment to combining commercial pace with strong governance and financial discipline as the HEB and BW partnership continues to expand. Carla will report to Glenn Thomas, CEO, UK Health & Employee Benefits and Global Practice Leader at Howden.
This announcement follows Howden’s acquisition of Barnett Waddingham in April 2025, which created a market leading force in the global employee benefits and pensions advisory sector, with approximately 4,000 experts across 40 countries, delivering total combined revenues exceeding £500 million.
Glenn Thomas, CEO, UK Health & Employee Benefits and Global Practice Leader, Howden, said: “Carla’s international experience will be a real advantage as we push ahead, particularly with our growth plans in the United States. She also brings the steady financial leadership we need as we continue to bring BW and HEB closer together and build one business, together. With Carla on board, we’ll stay focused, disciplined and in great shape for the next stage of our growth.”
Carla Hammond, Chief Financial Officer, Health & Employee Benefits at Howden/BW, said: “I'm incredibly excited to join the Employee Benefits team at Howden during this pivotal time in its growth journey. The energy and passion from everyone I've met has been inspiring, and I'm thrilled by the opportunity to ensure finance acts as a strategic partner to drive the business forward.”
Andrew Vaughan, Senior Partner at Barnett Waddingham, added: “Carla’s appointment marks another important step in building a stronger, unified employee benefits business across BW and Howden. Her blend of commercial focus and financial discipline will be invaluable as we continue aligning our operations and delivering greater value for clients. We’re delighted to welcome her and look forward to working closely together.”
Hammond’s appointment is effective immediately, subject to regulatory approval.
