Alaric Lee steps up as Howden’s Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong; Alfred Sham named Chief Strategy Officer, Asia
Hong Kong, 13 May 2026 - Howden today announces a leadership transition in its Hong Kong business, effective 1 July 2026. Alaric Lee has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong, succeeding Alfred Sham, who will relocate to Singapore to take on the role of Chief Strategy Officer, Asia. Lee’s appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
Lee is currently Chief Commercial Officer, Asia, and brings extensive experience across the region, including more than a decade in Hong Kong where he built deep relationships and strong market expertise.
In his new role, Lee will lead Howden’s Hong Kong business, focusing on building on its strong momentum, deepening client relationships, and driving continued growth in one of the region’s most important markets.
“I am excited to return to Hong Kong and take on this new role,” said Lee. “It is a market I know well, with tremendous opportunity, and I look forward to working closely with the team to build on the strong foundation in place and deliver for our clients.”
Sham has led the Hong Kong business for the past two years, during which time it has doubled in size. He will now take on a broader regional remit as Chief Strategy Officer, Asia, where he will focus on driving Howden’s growth ambitions through new initiatives, acquisitions and entry into new markets.
“It has been a privilege to lead the Hong Kong business and to work alongside such a talented team,” said Sham. “I am proud of the progress we have made together and look forward to contributing to Howden’s continued growth across the region in my new role.”
The transition reflects the company’s commitment to developing internal talent and aligning leadership capabilities with strategic priorities across Asia.
