Howden Specialty positions itself to become leader in the Sustainable Energy market with international hires

Howden Specialty today announced the launch of its new Sustainable Energy practice and the first of several significant new hires as part of its strategy to become the global market leader in the sector.

The 12-strong team led by Deborah Duss is mainly based in London and is expanding its geographical footprint with new hire Jonas Dalsgaard, who joins from Codan, a Danish insurer. Dalsgaard will join on 1 December 2020 as the Chief Commercial Officer based in Copenhagen and will be working alongside Daniel McCormick, who heads broking and placement strategy.

Dalsgaard commented: “I am truly excited about joining Howden Specialty and I look forward to playing my part in expanding the remit of Howden’s sustainable energy business and broadening its network using the entrepreneurial spirit and client-oriented mind-set for which Howden is so widely known.”

In addition, and as announced in October, Matthew Savitt who led the power and utilities team at Alesco in London, joined Howden Specialty on 2 November 2020 to head up the new Natural Resources team in Singapore, which will include Sustainable Energy as a key product line.
