DUAL appoints Richard Clapham as Regional CEO for Europe and CEO for UK

DUAL Group, the underwriting arm of Hyperion Insurance Group, announced today the appointment of Richard Clapham as Regional CEO, DUAL Europe and CEO, DUAL UK, subject to regulatory approval.  Clapham will report to Talbir Bains, CEO of DUAL International, and will join DUAL on 5 September 2016 from XL Catlin, where he is currently Underwriting Director.

Clapham will be responsible for heading up DUAL’s European region, whose operations in the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Poland and Finland control almost US$500m of premium.  He will be based in London and will also take local responsibility for running the London market and UK regional operations.

Clapham’s more than 30 years in the insurance market began in property broking at DR Fleet & Co, and have included roles leading Markel’s Professional Indemnity division and as Chief Operations Director of an AIM-listed start-up, as well as over a decade with Catlin where he was Member of the Group Underwriting Board, a Director of Catlin Underwriting Agency Ltd, and Catlin Insurance Company UK Ltd, and a Member of the UK Executive Committee.
